Optimising Superbia’s Operations: A COO Case Study
Background:

Headquartered in Leicester, Superbia is a wealth management group with UK coverage and a satellite office based in Chennai, India. Superbia is an acquisitive business mid-way through its growth cycle with significant value and growth yet to be realised.

Challenge:

Appointing a COO to the group board was a key step in ensuring the capability of the leadership continued to develop as the needs of the rapidly expanding group continued to evolve. The COO would ensure the continuous development of the central ‘landing pad’, ensuring they delivered seamless integration of target acquisitions and ultimately unlocking commercial value to the group.

Signia was therefore tasked with finding a candidate capable of leveraging their offshore infrastructure to drive operational efficiencies which in turn drive underlying profitability. Additionally, they needed to be strategic in outlook, capable of driving the development of the technology roadmap and supporting the delivery of the tech-enabled hybrid advice solution.

The Signia Solution:

Due to the strategic importance of the hire, Signia was engaged to run this mandate on our premium service – Exec Finder.

Given the specifics of the search criteria and the need for practical wealth management experience, the candidate universe within a commutable radius of the office was limited. Our mapping suggested there were 50 candidates capable of stepping directly into this role without considering a relocation.

Through our multi-channel candidate outreach and engagement process, Signia delivered a shortlist of 6 candidates. From this Leanne Williams ultimately accepted the position having held posts such as a shareholding Board position with Sense Adviser Group.
